LaMont Ridgell

Classically trained lyric baritone, LaMont Ridgell, originally hails from River Rouge, MI (near Detroit). While earning his Bachelor's Degree at Western Michigan University, he mixed classical with vocal jazz as a member of Western Michigan University's acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble "Gold Company" and never looked back.

A familiar face around the San Francisco Bay Area theatre community, LaMont has portrayed many lead roles with Altarena Playhouse, Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT), Custom Made Theatre Group, TheatreFirst, Contra Costa Musical Theatre (CCMT) and The Other Other Theatre Company (TOOTCo) to name a few.

LaMont shares his gift of song with many faith communities around the Bay Area as well. He was a featured singer on the 2015 release of Let's Sing!, the 2-CD set of the Christian Science Hymnal Supplement: 430-462. And, his 2003 solo debut "Intimacy" can be found on Amazon. Along with the other talented and gifted artists on Hymnstream, he welcomes the opportunity to “inspire, heal, enlighten and assist others in ‘just being.’”

"Being a singer is a natural gift. It means I'm using to the highest degree possible, the gift that God gave me to use. I'm happy with that." - Aretha Franklin
